6 One UI 6 features that will make you want a Samsung Galaxy

One UI 6 has rolled out across Samsung Galaxy devices with the update reaching older Samsung models later in the month. The update brings many exciting improvements to the look and functionality to Galaxy smartphones. If you’ve been on the fence about getting a Samsung Galaxy, here are some of the exciting changes that may just convince you to get one.

Quick panel improvements

Samsung has made significant improvements in the quick panel, simplifying essential toggles such as WiFi and Bluetooth at the top. There is also a separate section for brightness and display controls allowing you to quickly activate Eye comfort shield and Dark mode. All the way at the bottom is the Smart view and Device control.

Smart view allows you to quickly connect to an external screen for mirroring, while Device control brings you to a simplified version of SmartThings. That means you can quickly search and control connected devices such as your Galaxy SmartTags, Galaxy Watch or more.

Camera improvements

The layout of the camera app has been simplified, allowing you to make quick changes before snapping those pics. Those who find that their shutters are not as snappy as iPhones will appreciate that they can now toggle the quality optimization of pictures. Choose faster pictures in place of quality or trade higher quality pictures for longer capture times. Ultimately this also comes down to your phone’s processing power, so newer S series phones won’t suffer too much of a loss either way.

There are also new ways to improve your photography such as a level line to keep your photos straight. There is even a new camera widget for immediate access to your camera at the settings that you want.

Gallery and editing

One UI 6 introduces a whole lot of editing tools including an editing app called Studio. You can access Studio directly from your Gallery, allowing you to make edits without the need for advanced editing skills.

There’s a lot more you can do with photos like turning them into stickers by tapping and holding on them. There are also new backgrounds and styles to give your photos that extra pop.

Security

Samsung introduces the new Auto Blocker which prevents unknown apps from being installed. More impressively, the Auto Blocker also prevents access to your phone via USB Cable. This adds an extra layer of protection to your personal files that could have been compromised when connected to a PC.

Accessibility

Navigating and multitasking with your Samsung Galaxy is smarter than ever. Do you remember having to hold down on app icons to move them across different pages? Now you can use two fingers, meaning that you can hold down the icon with one hand and change pages with another. 2-hand accessibility also applies across various instances such as moving around pictures in the Gallery, moving bookmarks around in Samsung Internet browser, rescheduling on the Calendar and moving files in My Files.

Emojis and stickers

Samsung has redesigned their entire collection of emojis, giving it a fresher, more modern look. There is also a new function that allows you to create mini animations with emojis. Combine the laughing emoji with a cat emoji, the possibilities are endless.

Along with customisable stickers, you’ll be able to express yourself without having to type a single word.

Conclusion

One UI offers one of the best Android experiences available on the market today. Thanks to Samsung’s massive ecosystem and partnerships, the things you can do with a Samsung Galaxy phone is near impossible to beat.
